How good was Royal Caribbean for kids???

Well it’s safe to say we had a great time on board the Navigator of the sea’s last week, as I’ve not long got back, I’ve not managed to download all our photo’s yet so I’ll do a more detailed blog next week to divulge some of the best bits, however in the meantime I wanted to share with you my overall thoughts of the children’s activities and what I personally found on board.

With 3500 passengers on board our ship for one week, for those adult only passengers look away now, 1000 of them yes that’s right 1000 were children, however I have to say you would have never of known.

On day two after settling in I suggested to Maddison who is 7 that we might take a look at the Kid’s club facilities. She was quite sure and confidently informed us she would take a look but would in no way shape, or form be going. Bless her, Maddie’s always been very sure of what she wants in life, we had to laugh but I still didn’t want her to miss out, so we did have a few trips up throughout the cruise just so she could see what was going on but on every occasion she said yes I can see what they’re all doing but I’m still not going, ha ha!

We found all the restaurants really child friendly and the staff all made a fuss of the kids. The pool areas were great and I was really pleased to see they had 3 lifeguards on board.

The only downside I found was that although there were multiple entertainment venues on board there was not an overly child friendly venue for us all to go to once we’d had dinner. You’ve obviously got the Theatre, but with 3 children under 7 years of age that would not have lasted 5 minutes, the Cosmopolitan bar did a family Karaoke from 9:30pm-10:30pm however we seemed to be the only family with small children in there, and the Star Lounge was mainly full of Adults that would not really have entertained little ones having a mad half hour burning off energy before bedtime.

So overall daytime activities great, we even took Phoebe to the creche for a few hours on one of the days, at $6 per hour it was a great service to give her Mom & Dad a little break and Phoebe loved it too. However I do feel that a evening family friendly venue is missing on this ship as we tended to head off to bed by 9pm as we struggled to find a suitable place to go.
