Wi-Fi on cruise ships

I know many people now a days have phones that all most do everything and Wi-Fi is a big thing, as everyone is either on Facebook or wants to chat to there family and send them photo’s while away and most places are up to date with this, I don’t catch public transport but I’ve even been told that the buses do free Wi-Fi now.

So why can’t cruise ships do free Wi-Fi all the money customer’s pay to go on a cruise ship and they charge loads for it, I know some cruise lines do a internet package where #you can have so many minutes for a certain price but I believe they shouldn’t be charging for this.

I have been many places in the last couple of years I went to Mexico not last year but the year before and I got free Wi-Fi, last year I went to the Dominican Republic and had free Wi-Fi, even in turkey in every bar and restaurant  and the hotels I got free Wi-Fi, so why do cruise lines expect people to pay for this service?

I think that every cruise line should do free Wi-Fi what do you think?
