Weddings

I’ve been wanting to get married for a while now (not that I’m even engaged yet) but every girl always dreams about what there wedding would be like, would it be a church wedding, civil ceremony or even a wedding aboard?

I always wanted the big church wedding my dad walking me down the aisle and then all my family and friends at the big do after. But how expensive is it now a days I know you can get special offers on many hotel’s now at very good prices, but when you work it out the special offer at a hotel then your honeymoon and its got to be somewhere really special like 7 nights in Dubai then 7 in the Maldives,  as the Maldives is somewhere that I’ve always wanted to have my honeymoon  and my partner wants to go to Dubai, But when you’ve added it all up together your talking about £10,000 to have one day. I know it will only ever happen once will I hope (ha ha) but £10,000 is a lot of money and then you’ve got all the dresses the suits the flowers the list is never ending and I just can’t begrudge  spending that on my wedding.

Then I came across getting married on a cruise ship how fantastic would that be being on your kind of honeymoon and getting married all on one place. Seeing different places everyday. Now after doing some home work on this I found out that the only day you can get married is on sailing date due to the laws but that doesn’t bother me, think it would be really good for the photo’s and very romantic.

If you was to get married on a P&O Ship you would just pay for your cruise then £1750.00 including all your fee’s for your wedding so all in all you would pay roughly about £4500.00 and you’ve got your holiday/honeymoon and your wedding for under £5000.00. Now doesn’t that make more money sense to do something like this, Well it would to me , I love the idea of it but it did really bother me thinking would it really be my day or would it be just like a conveyor belt one wedding after another and what would you do for the sit down meal would you just eat in the normal restaurants with everyone else or would they give you an area and corner it off so it’s nice a private.

I asked one of my friends who’s  got married on a princess ship and she said that it was fantastic everything was magical about it and she wouldn’t have done it any other way, she would always recommend this to people who are looking at getting married aboard. She said there is only one wedding a day so it is your day. The staff blocked one of the lifts off so there was just her,  her dad and bridesmaid’s using it, for the meal they had one area of the speciality restaurants cornered off so it was private for there sit down meal as they had paid for family and friends to eat in this speciality restaurant. so to me it makes perfect sense to do this for my wedding day and have our honeymoon in Dubai and Maldives later on as a honeymoon/holiday.

So I’m sorted now with what I would like to do for my wedding day just need Mr to ask me now.

Tell me if you’ve got married on a cruise ship or if you fancy getting married on one and what are your thoughts on this subject?
