Snow Room

Care for an arctic blast with your spa treatment?

Norwegian Escape , set to debut in November, will add a Snow Room to its Thermal Suite, which Norwegian Cruise Line is billing as the largest at sea.

The Mandara Spa on 4,200-passenger Escape will span two decks, with ocean views. Its Thermal Suite, which carries an extra charge ($45 a day/$199 a week on Getaway; costs on Escape have not yet been announced), will have 17 heated loungers, a hydro-therapy pool, whirlpools, a steam room, a dry sauna, a samarium and a salt room.

The Snow Room, which will be kept between 21 to 32 degrees Fahrenheit, will live up to its name by sending out snow flurries throughout the day. In a release, the line said that the chilly respite from the heat will give passengers a “multitude of health benefits,” including stimulating blood circulation and strengthening the immune system.

Escape will also add some extra features to its adults-only areas. Spice H20, which already has hot tubs and a waterfall on Getaway, will have a fully developed Grotto on Escape, where passengers can cool off after sunbathing. At night, Spice H20, which is complimentary, transforms into an adult nightclub.

Adults seeking an even more private experience will be able to purchase passes to Vibe Beach Club. Already in place on Breakaway and Getaway, Vibe Beach Club has loungers, an oversized hot tub, and water features, along with water spritzes, chilled towels and fruit skewers.

If you’re traveling with kids, don’t worry: The line has already announced activities for them on Escape, including a sprawling ropes course, aqua park and enhanced childcare options.

I think NCL come up with some brilliant ideas when I went on the NCL Epic and they had the Ice room I really wanted to go but the ship was that busy we never got the chance so I really hope I get to go on the Escape and experience the Snow room.

Have you been with NCL and what are your thoughts on her?
