I’m sure everyone has heard in the news the last couple of weeks about the government wanting children to stay in school from 09:00 till 6pm, and the kids holidays to be cut from 13 weeks to 7 weeks.

Now you know if you have read my other blogs that I don’t have kids but I really think this is a good idea for kids to be in school longer and for there holidays to be cut shorter. I believe it wouldn’t do a child any harm cause what do they really do when they get home at 3:15pm watch TV play on computer games etc.

Now wouldn’t this be loads better for family’s with both parents working. The parents  will be able to drop their child off and pick them up without relying on other people to do this. And don’t you think that it is better for the child that there learning more in a day.

But what will this do for the holiday companies if they cut the kids holidays down, will the cruise companies/ holiday companies have to lower there prices for most of the year as the kids won’t be off as much? would we see more companies going bust as there not getting as much money from these holiday prices?

Me and my sister have different thoughts on this, as she thinks its wrong that the government are trying to do this, but I’m all for it.

What are your thoughts on this, do you agree that kids should stay longer in school and have there holidays cut short? or do you think it’s too long for a child to be in school that long. Please let me here your thoughts on this.
