MSC to cut in to Rivals Sales by Lengthening four ships

MSC  have said that they will be cutting each ship in two just forward from the Funnel, and the separated to make way for the new section, Work started this week on MSC cruises and is going to cost £160 million to stretch four ships.

The first ship was  MSC Armonia  who is in dry dock in Palermo, Sicily, over the next few weeks a pre-fabricated 80ft mid section will be welded in place adding extra cabins, public areas and more crew space, after the ships have been lenghtered they will be come 970ft long and 60,000 gross tons with an extra 193 cabins and be able to hold 2,679.

I think this is really good for MSC and will get them right back up with the likes of P&O, Royal Caribbean, and most of the cruise company’s are bringing new ships out MSC are sticking with the ones that they have and giving them a lot more space.

Many cruise customers might find this a bad idea as many people like the size of MSC but I believe its a good idea for them, Please tell me what you thoughts are on this do you think MSC are doing the right think?
