Rosie Cruises

Destination Japan

Princess have launched their biggest programme for cruises to Japan for 2018.

Now is a fantastic time to book a trip to Japan and combining with a cruise to make the most out of your stay.

So what is there to see in Japan?

Tokyo is the largest city in Japan and also has a population of 35 million people! This means space is very limited and some live in apartments that are only 10 square feet! As you can imagine the pace is fast a furious! My favourite video clip is guard’s literally pushing people onto the trains!

Bullet trains are the fastest trains in the world. This would be on my list of things to do! The fastest speed recorded is 320 km per hour, they have an amazing track record for safety and reliability. I would love to take my dad on one of these trains! He has always been a train enthusiast, steam are his passion but he loves all the modern engineering too!

Snow monkeys is an activity that is feature in some of our tailor made packages and they have been very popular! You can get up close and personal with them at the Jigokudani Monkey Park. If the weather is cold enough you can watch them bathing in the water. They like cold water!

Mount Fuji is Japan’s largest mountain. The views can be enjoyed form various places but most people take a trip which includes the bullet train from Tokyo which is approx. 2 hours and a boat trip on Lake Ashi. Look at the views!

Cherry blossom is enjoyed every spring in Japan. The best place to enjoy the blossom is in Shinjuku which is just south of Tokyo. The pink colours are amazing.

Finally another popular sight is the sumo wrestlers! You have to combine with a tournament or just visit the museum. Tournaments are only at certain parts of the year so worth checking before you go.
