Should I book early for summer 2017?

Should I book early for summer 2017?

At this time of year the cruise lines start to release their new season programmes to tempt regular cruisers into booking early. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity cruises have been on sale now for a few weeks and they promise that you can book now and then switch onto a promotion later in the year. This can only be done once so don’t get too excited!

P&O have gone on sale today for their very highest loyalty members and Cunard early next week. These are the ones we always wait for and seem to be the most popular when it comes to booking early. But does it pay to book early?

I am a strong believer in if you like the deal you are getting there is no reason why you shouldn’t book early and it also gives you something fabulous to look forward to! We all work hard and holidays are very important. We want to make sure it is perfect!

What happens if the prices are lower closer to the date? Well, I guess that is the chance you take and the fact that you have the choice of cabin position and dining times normally swings it for most. If you don’t care about these little then booking late can often get you a good deal!

Don’t expect to get any extras though. Free parking, on board credit or free drinks packages are usually for early bookings.

So when is the best time to book?

If you require specifics for example dates, school holidays, ports that you have never visited, a new ship or even just that you are a family and require a 3 or 4 berth cabin. You are better to book early for sure. Disappointment is hard when you are pleasing others!

Not bothered about the above then happy days, hold off for a bargain.

When do you normally book your cruise?

Do you like to know when and where a year in advance?

Are you planning booking when the programmes release?

I would love to know your thoughts!

Thanks for reading
