Majestic Princess will be the newest addition to the Princess Cruise fleet and will debut next year.
There will be a few European cruises to showcase the ship to the European market before it begins on it’s journey to Asia.
Princess have announced that the ship will be designed for the Chinese market so what can you expect if you are planning a voyage on this beautiful new ship ?
To cater for the Chinese market there will be an Asian floral décor and there will be a different layout and the some of the features will be changed.
We all know that the Chinese love their karaoke so the Lotus Spa has been restructured to allow room for karaoke suites in some of the treatment rooms
There will be a more Asian influence of food on board with a wide variety to choose from in the self service buffet. They are also replacing the much loved Sabatini’s Italian Speciality restaurant with the Harmony Chinese restaurant. This will be influenced by Michelin star chef from Wynn Las Vegas.
The Gelato ice-cream won’t be featured in favour of extra shops. This would be a disappointment to me everyone likes a nice Gelato ice-cream when on holiday and I am sure they could find space for it somewhere !!
They also love to gamble so extra space is being made for the casino which will stretch into the nightclub and cigar lounge and there will be VIP and private gaming sections.
The shows have also been adapted and will feature 2 new shows called “Fiera” and “Fantastic Journey “.
Most cruise lines do adapt their ships depending on the majority of the market they are catering for. If you cruise from Southampton the food and entertainment will be very British .
I cruised last year on Mariner off the Seas from Singapore and was expecting a typical Royal Caribbean cruise but to a different destination.
I was wrong. Everything was changed to cater for the 98% majority of Asian passengers.
However this wasn’t a problem as I felt it was a more authentic cruise experience. I did struggle with the shows as they really weren’t to my taste but still enjoyed the lovely food and drinks on board.
If you want to party until the early hours you might want to reconsider. We did have a few good nights but we were the only ones in the nightclub !!
