Chefs battle it out on Britannia

After Saturday Night Take-away ended the show on Britannia it was time for another television show to take-over. This time it was Battlechef being filmed on board P&O’S newest flagship.

For anyone who hasn’t seen it Marco Pierre White is the Celebrity chef watching over different Celebrities each week. They are sent off in port to source and buy local ingredients and then return to the ship to be taught how to prepare and cook these dishes.
I think it is a great idea for P&O as it will showcase the cookery school on Britannia which is already very popular. On selected cruises you can learn to cook various types of dishes by celebrity Chef James Martin which you must book in advance to avoid disappointment.
There is the option to choose between different types of cookery classes such as learning how to make Tapas, deserts etc.
Some classes are taken by the chef’s on board Britannia so if you specifically want to be in the James Martin class you need to check this will be available on your cruise before you book.
There is a charge for this and the amount will depend on the class you choose. I am sure it is well worth the supplement as when else would you have this opportunity ?
I was lucky enough to stay on Britannia when it was launched and had a good look around the cookery club. There were demonstrations taking place and it looked very good.

P&O has a lot of Celebrity influence with menus and dishes prepared by the likes of Marco Pierre White, James Martin, Eric Lanlard and wine expert Olly Smith.
I had a lovely meal from the Marco Pierre White menu which was beautiful.

All my favourite food and drinks on one cruise, I think Britannia is calling for me.
