More Cruises to Egypt Cancelled

The British Foreign office is still at this time advising against travel to most of Egypt, the only parts that people are currently allowed to travel to at this time are Red Sea coastal resorts such as Sharm-el-Sheikh as these are un-affected, you can see what I mean by clicking THIS LINK and viewing the map.

Unfortunately cruises are getting affected by this and are being forced to cancel port calls or cruises to that region.

MSC has recently pulled the Armonia from their Red Sea itinerary program that was due to sail from November 2013 to April 2014.  This does seem like a way off for this decision to be made.  I had clients of mine effected by this decision who had already booked their own flights and hotels.  I am disappointed that MSC were promoting their new itinerary’s before informing myself or my clients about the cancelled cruises.

New Cunard and P&O Getaways now with added on board credit !

I previously blogged in June of this year about the fact that P&O and Cunard had in effect done a “U-turn” on their getaway fares policy allowing cabins with an occupancy of one, three or four to now book on getaway fares departing from 1st September 2013 onwards (you can read that blog HERE)

Now P&O and Cunard have released a selection of cruises on what they call “Enhanced Getaway” fares that have on board credit also included. (details in pictures below, click to enlarge)  In my eyes this is another reverse in direction for these cruise line’s as they have already put so much time and effort trying to make people understand the difference in terms between their Vantage and Getaway deals.

Do you like Bread and Butter Pudding ? Holland America may just be the Cruise Line for you

I was an interesting conversation with one of my clients recently about which cruise line’s they had sailed with and who they preferred.

It came up in conversation that my clients weren’t to keen on Holland America Line so naturally I had to ask why, as I believe them to be a good quality cruise line and generally get good feedback about them.

River Cruises suffer due to flooding in Europe

It’s not just the UK that has suffered terrible weather in recent times.  There has been terrible floods across central Europe.

Obviously this isn’t going to have that much of an impact on ocean cruises but it certainly does on river cruises.

I have updated info showing what has been affected below (hopefully everything is back to normal again soon).

What makes a good cruise deal ?

It has to be said that there are some amazing cruise offers this year.

A lot of the special late deals offered by cruise line’s have some down sides to offset the massive reduction in price.  What makes a good cruise deal really depends on what you want from your cruise booking.

Carnival Cruise Line to pull it’s ships out of the UK and Europe for 2014

Carnival Cruise Line have just announced that they will be redeploying their ships away from the UK and Europe in 2014.
