Which ship is going adult only?

I’m sure like me, many of you today have read that P&O is making one of their existing ships adult only. This ship is due to return from its refit in March 2019 as an adult only Vessel. From the 8th April 2019 the Aurora is due to join the Arcadia and Oriana as exclusively for adult ships.

This change follows on from the sale of P&O cruises smaller adult only vessel Adonia to it’s rival Royal Caribbean. P&O have stated they have chosen to make this conversion due to ”extensive research and guest feedback””With Aurora becoming a ship exclusively for adults, we are offering our guests even more choice which means they can choose the holiday experience that is absolutely the right one for them”. All the ships have the signature P&O elements of dining and service that guests have come to know and love. However P&O make it about choice for their guests, whether they want the range of activities and children’s clubs on the more family friendly ships or prefer the more peaceful atmosphere on the adult only ships.

From this feedback P&O can see that their guests who do prefer the pace and atmosphere of a ship that is exclusively for adults will need a greater choice of itineraries and another ship. Hence the decision to make the Aurora Adult Only.

The Britannia, Ventura, Oceana and Azura will still remain the family friendly ships in the fleet. And they also have their 2 large new generation ships on order to enter service in 2020 and 2022.

Due to this change P&O will be contacting guests who are already booked with children from April 2019 and will be offering alternatives.

The news didn’t surprise me too much considering the sale of the Adonia and i know many past guests will welcome this news. How do you feel about this announcement? Leave us your comments below.
