How aBOAT this then

Everyone loves hearing about a new ship. Well i’m sure most of us do. Luckily for those who do P&O have just announced the details of their new ship due to be launched for 2020.

The Star attraction of this new ship will come in the shape of a clear sky dome, funnily enough called The Dome, and will feature a pool with retractable stage, whirlpools and a water feature. Doesn’t matter what the weather will be doing outside this area will act as an all-weather venue for your daily entertainment and is one of four main entertainment areas on board this ship. During the evening get ready for aerial performances, immersive shows and projections on the roof of the Dome.

Moving on to the uninterrupted half a mile promenade featured on Deck 8. This will provide guests with easy access to a range of restaurants for al fresco dining as well as relaxation spots under shaded pavilion awnings.

Glass walls will run over 3 decks allowing natural lights into P&O’s signature Atrium. Now i’d imagine this has come from guest feedback based on the Oceana as she is a firm favorite for Past P&O guests. Customers have always mentioned to me how much natural light she lets in.

P&O have stated that guests will really be spoiled for choice when it comes to the dining, entertainments and socializing options for this ship:

– 17 places to eat

– 7 speciality restaurants

– 12 places to enjoy a drink and see the sea

– 13 entertainment venues from the theatre to adult only venues

– Three pop-up entertainment spaces/venues

– 16 whirlpools

– 4 swimming pools (three outside, one inside)

– 9 places to have breakfast

– 5 places to enjoy afternoon tea

– 7 places to have coffee

Cutting Edge Designers and architects are working on creating this next generation ship. she will be the first new build for P&O in 5 years when she firsts enters service during early Summer 2020.

The ship will be the most environmentally efficient in P&O Cruises history with “green cruising” design using liquefied natural gas (LNG) to generate the primary source of power both in port and on the open sea.

This does all sound very exciting and i’m sure like me some of you can’t wait to hear more. If you are new to cruising with P&O why not take a look at our guide Click Here.
