I have just returned from a week in Italy meeting over three hundred clients in Lake Garda before travelling on to Venice.
We stayed in the small resort of Gardone Riviera on the western shore of Lake Garda in three beautiful hotels all directly located on the lake shore. Gardone is home to the villa once owned by the poet Gabriele D’Annunzio and a botanical garden and is also a stop for the ferry system that traverses the lake so you can explore some of the other little gems in the area.
This tailor-made package that we offer is a dream for any budding artist or photographer. The scenery is stunning and we were lucky as the weather was dry.
The season was ending and the towns were fairly quiet so it was a lovely time to be there and not be in the crowds. I always think that low season is the ideal time to sample some amazing local restaurants and being on the lake, the fish is amazing as so fresh. The locally produced wines are delicious and all very reasonably priced and the incredible selection of ice cream flavours cannot be matched anywhere else.
After three nights, we continued our travels to Venice with a stop in the delightful town of Verona on the way. I have travelled to Italy many times but this was my first visit to Verona and I would love to go back and explore a bit more. Of course we visited the famous Juliet balcony.
After a very good pasta lunch, we headed on for Venice…..
