Princess new dining

Dining is a big part of cruising and all cruise lines like to try and out do each other on new and innovative venues to make your cruise experience memorable.

Princess have recently announced some new dining experiences they are introducing on Caribbean Princess.  The ship is currently in dry dock in Bahamas until 6th April, the ship will head to the UK to sail the British Isles round trip from Southampton from May until September, visiting port such as Cork and Dublin in Ireland, Belfast and Edinburgh.

New York in March – Snow joke

March, is supposed to be the start of spring, however I am off to New York in two days to hopefully enjoy the St. Patrick’s festivities with some friends and there is snow forecast!!

I am off to New York

Well, it has been over 12 years since I have visited the ‘Big Apple’.  That time was with 30 friends to celebrate a friends 30th Birthday.  The weekend was quite a fuzzy one as you could appreciate and I didn’t really take in the fact that I was actually in New York.

Drinks on a ship

This is a question we get asked as agents many times.  What are the price of drinks on board?

Now different cruise lines offer different packages.  It really depends on how much you drink and I hate asking that question.  It sounds like i’m saying my clients like one too many.  Many cruise lines like Royal Caribbean and Celebrity are offering ‘free drinks package’ but only on ocean view cabins or higher.  I believe they add the price of the drinks package into the cruise cost ( so it covers their costs )

Do famous people cruise?

Cruising is not for everyone I know.  However if you were famous would you confine yourself to a 2000 passenger ship sailing to amazing ports of call?

Ed Sheeran recently took over part of the Queen Mary 2 sailing from New York to Southampton.  In typical Ed Sheeran style he rocked up at Brooklyn terminal and asked for the cheapest cabin going. Not that he cant afford a Queens Grill though, however his friend with whom he was travelling with did not like flying.

Are obstructed view worth the money?

I have just returned from a fantastic little voyage on Fred Olsen Boudicca.  The ship is an old build ship and was built in 1973 and was called the Royal Viking Sky for the Royal Viking cruise company. In 2005 the ship was sold to Fred Olsen cruise lines.

Small ships are wanted!!

P&O have announced that their small ship Adonia is to return to their 2017/2018 season.  The ship was much loved by the P&O faithful and when she left the fleet to help with humanitarian work overseas there was a big hole to fill as many of the P&O fleet are larger ships and P&O were losing some of their passengers to cruise & Maritime and Fred Olsen.

Celebrity cruises have announced the name of their second ‘Edge class ship’ The Celebrity Beyond is the second in the class, remembering that the first ship in a new class is named after the class.

The three biggest ship in the world have just ported together at Fort Lauderdale.  The Oasis class ships, Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas have met with Harmony of the seas.
