The three biggest ship in the world have just ported together at Fort Lauderdale.  The Oasis class ships, Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas have met with Harmony of the seas.

Queen Mary 2 did not disappoint

I have just returned from a four night mini cruise on Cunard’s Queen Mary 2.  The ship has just been remastered, which is a posh word for a refit. However Cunard have spent £90 million on the re fit.  We were able to see some of the changes however as the ship was full with guests so we could not look in the new single cabins of which 15 are brand new on the ship.  There are also 30 new Britannia club cabins and the Grills staterooms have had a complete change with new interiors, carpets and decoration.

Harmony of the seas accident

It has been reported today that in the port of Marseille a life boat has detached its self from Royal Carribean’s Harmony of the Seas and injured 4 people and killed another.

How do they maintain cruise ships?

Cruise ships are in service all year round, seven days a week and 365 days a year.  The ships don’t stop at all unless there is any maintenance required which stops the ship from sailing.  This would be something like an engine problem or something which would affect the clients on board.

Why is there a gym on a cruise ship?

What do you think when you hear the words Cruise ship?

Numerous lounges, huge theatre, pools, deck chairs, a casino and dining rooms…..food,  hours of over indulgence, buffet, burgers, five course meals !! I don’t think I have ever eaten as much as I have when I am not on a ship.  The thought of a 5 course evening meal every day bring churning noises to my stomach.

Will Cunard give inspiration to Ed?

Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 has just come out of quite a big re fit and she seems to be attracting some famous faces. Queen Mary 2 is the only ship that has trans-Atlantic sailings all year round so it is a lovely relaxing way to cross the pond and as we know a lot of business is done with our American friends.
