Cruising is not for everyone I know. However if you were famous would you confine yourself to a 2000 passenger ship sailing to amazing ports of call?
Ed Sheeran recently took over part of the Queen Mary 2 sailing from New York to Southampton. In typical Ed Sheeran style he rocked up at Brooklyn terminal and asked for the cheapest cabin going. Not that he cant afford a Queens Grill though, however his friend with whom he was travelling with did not like flying.

I have just returned from a fantastic little voyage on Fred Olsen Boudicca. The ship is an old build ship and was built in 1973 and was called the Royal Viking Sky for the Royal Viking cruise company. In 2005 the ship was sold to Fred Olsen cruise lines.

P&O have announced that their small ship Adonia is to return to their 2017/2018 season. The ship was much loved by the P&O faithful and when she left the fleet to help with humanitarian work overseas there was a big hole to fill as many of the P&O fleet are larger ships and P&O were losing some of their passengers to cruise & Maritime and Fred Olsen.

Queen Mary…..no not the Queen Mary 2 before anyone tries to call me to cancel their booking. The old Queen Mary has been reported to be one of the most haunted ships that was on the seas.

If you have spoken to me before about cruises and especially food on cruise ships you will know that different cruise companies have different menus to try and tempt passengers onto their ships.

I have just returned from a four night mini cruise on Cunard’s Queen Mary 2. The ship has just been remastered, which is a posh word for a refit. However Cunard have spent £90 million on the re fit. We were able to see some of the changes however as the ship was full with guests so we could not look in the new single cabins of which 15 are brand new on the ship. There are also 30 new Britannia club cabins and the Grills staterooms have had a complete change with new interiors, carpets and decoration.

Cruise ships are in service all year round, seven days a week and 365 days a year. The ships don’t stop at all unless there is any maintenance required which stops the ship from sailing. This would be something like an engine problem or something which would affect the clients on board.
