My River cruise

I have just returned from an excellent river sailing from Koblenz to Amsterdam.  We visited Cochem, Cologne, Hoorn in Holland and an overnight in Amsterdam on the Amadeus Silver 1 ship.

Myself and three colleagues flew from Manchester into Frankfurt and took an hour and a half train from Frankfurt to Koblenz to join the ship.  Non of us had been on a river sailing before so we were looking forward to the experience.

Amadeus silver is slightly different to other river cruise lines where you do not get excursions included so you can choose what excursions you wanted to do once on board.  They do include wine, beer and soft drinks at lunch and dinner and let me tell you it is a bottomless glass.  The waiters were very attentive and you never went without.

We had a Juliette balcony so the window was electric  and on sunny days you can drop the window to see some of the magnificent views.

The ship had 5 bicycles you can borrow to explore some of the ports if you wanted. We had a pedal up and down the river bank and into Cochem town where you can see much more than walking.

I will give some more information about the ship in future posts to tease you about the great trip i have just been on but just look at the sunny view from the bridge (not at my legs though).
