Is It Worth The Risk??

With so many fantastic offers around at the moment, it can be hard to decide which offer is best. There’s Free Drinks from One, upgraded cabins on another , free on board spend on another- the list goes on.Then there is the Guaranteed Cabin option!

The guaranteed cabin promotion may certainly seem to be a great price however is it worth the risk? I often get asked what does a guaranteed cabin mean?? Well to keep it simple, if you book a guaranteed inside cabin , you know that you will get an inside cabin however the location is purely down to the cruise line.  It may also mean that you won’t get to choose your preference of dining time and if you are travelling in a group, cabins may not be together or even on the same deck for that matter. Would this really make a difference?  At first, many think ‘I really don’t mind where the cabin is or when I eat’ Which is great if that really wouldn’t be a problem, but what if you booked a guaranteed cabin and when you got your cabin number allocated  you really didn’t like the location?? What about the view? Is that an important factor? If you book a guaranteed outside or balcony cabin you could end up with an obstructed view.balcony

I’m often asked what would I do and I always give you my honest opinion. I do prefer midship and clear view cabins therefore if I have the choice, I do prefer to book my cabin number so I know where I am, however if it meant the difference between taking a cruise or staying at home I would choose the guaranteed cabin every time!!

A guaranteed cabin can be a fantastic option if you can be flexible on dates, don’t mind your cabin type or location and don’t mind your dining time. You could save £££’s. As long as you are aware of the conditions a guaranteed cabin could be perfect for you!

I’d love to hear your experiences on a guaranteed cabin, was it worth the risk for you?
