A Guide to Shore Excursions – Villefranche

This week I’ve decided to write about one of my favourite ports of call, Villefranche. This was definitely one of the highlights on my first cruise. The glitz and glamour of this beautiful coast can’t help but make you smile.villefrance

There is certainly something for everyone to see and do here. I opted for a full day tour to make the most of my time. Firstly we headed for Monaco taking in the sights on the way before arriving at the Prince’s Palace – such amazing place. We even managed to time it just right for the crossing of the guards! Next we headed to Monte Carlo, this was my highlight. The expensive yachts  extravagant shops, super fast cars and the famous casino, I was in my element. Oh how the other half live!!

Last on the agenda before heading back to the ship was my husband’s treat – A drive along the famous Grand Prix Circuit. A definite must for those F1 fans.

One thing that really sticks out in my mind is how beautiful the harbour is. I remember just after we had been to the Prince’s Palace we had a short walk and came to a point where you could look down and see of miles.

You can also visit the Medieval village of Eze. A cliff top village that is known as the Eagle’s Nest which has amazing views of the  French Riviera and is filled full of history in it’s mansions and chateaus.

Why not visit Nice and discover it’s  history and charm. Take a tour and visit the city’s famous landmarks before relaxing in a cafe and watching the world go by.
