Should you book your cruise early or wait till last minute!!!

As a cruise specialist I am always asked my thoughts on booking the cruise you like now or just waiting to see if any further discounts are offered nearer to your departure date.

Personally I like to plan and book my holidays in advance to ensure I get the right dates, flight times and offers that are suitable to me and my family.

When I booked my holiday I was very happy with the price and I will not check again as I know the price will be totally different, it could be cheaper or more expensive, I will never know.

But for a cruise should you book 18 months in advance to secure the best deals, prices and offers or maybe wait until a few months before you travel to see if the cruise line have reduced the price considerably?

The positive side of booking in advance you can select your cabin numbers and location, select suitable dining times and receive early booking offers such as Free drinks package, free on board spending money or even free car parking at some UK ports. If you are flexible and are able to wait till a few months or even weeks before your travel dates subject to availability,  you can sometimes pick the cruise you want for a much lower price but the cruise line may offer your booking as a Guarantee basis for the cabins, your cabin grade is selected but the cabin number and location will be allocated by the cruise line, your dining time is also selected by the cruise line and you may not receive any additional  offers just a reduction on the cruise.
