FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE…

The world cup is well and truly in full swing now, I have to admit I do not follow the football but having heard my daughter and husband shouting with joy at the TV Yesterday , England scoring 6 goals against Panama, that was fantastic.

But lets focus on Russia for a moment, For me one of the most powerful yet beautiful nations in the world. Moscow the capital city is one of the largest city’s in the world.   We then have the pretty St Petersburg.  Now this is a favourite port of call for many cruise lines that offer the Baltic sailings.  The most popular time to sail to the Baltics is generally May/June and July time with several other sailings throughout the year.  Whilst docked overnight in St Petersburg the number one on my list to visit would be the Ballet.  St Petersburg is home to some of the most amazing ballet shows in the world currently Swan Lake is showing, tissues at the ready if you’re an emotional person like me.

Maybe you could book a tour of the  Peterhof Grand Palace, famous for its beautiful gardens and stunning waterfuls, or discover the Rivers and Canals of St Petersburg. There is so much choice on offer and your cruise line will have a stunning array of excursions to pre book in advance or if you like to explore you can just take time and explore St Petersburg at your leisure.
