P&O to re vamp the on board experience for 2017!

I’m sure that this will be a change welcomed by P&O fans across the country. The cruise line has received a lot of criticism in the past few months regarding the overall experience. I have heard many negative reviews regarding the food, attention to detail and overall experience. Many believe that this is due to the company cost cutting and trying to save money to lower their prices but hopefully this is soon to change!

2017 brings exciting changes for the cruise line as it’s the year that they celebrate their 180th anniversary promising new menu’s, on board activities and theatre shows. In October, the Azura saw the launch of e new show named ‘Evolution’ which features songs by Michael Jackson, Coldplay, Sting, Lady Gaga, Elton John and Paloma Faith. This month Arcadia guests will be treated to a new stage show which will create a 1920’s cabaret world featuring well known classics from musicals including, Cabaret, Chicago and Flora the Red Menace.

Food menus have also been updated with Marco Pierre White creating new gala dinners for the full fleet and Olympian athlete Mark Foster will host several family fitness and swimming sessions on Britannia.

So, the cruise line is going to town to try and modernise the on-board experience in line with its competitors. I’m sure it will be a move welcomed by many but is it enough to win back their loyal passengers who have recently been left feeling let down by the overall experience or is it too little too late. Many of their competitors including Celebrity and Royal Caribbean have introduced similar changes in recent years so this is what clients expect anyway – could it be that P&O have missed the boat? (excuse the pun!)

Personally, I think it’s a great change and just what the cruise line need but what are your thoughts?
