I Hate To Admit To It ….

Last week I foolishly fell for Cruise.co.uk’s April Fool

The joke was well and truly on me, the question is would you have fallen for this?

The story was that Thomson had bought Cunard’s QE2 that is currently is disrepair in Dubai where it has been for several years and after a major refit would be cruising in the Med as a family ship to be named Thomson Triumph but it was all a JOKE!!!

This seemed a plausible plan for Thomson after recently purchasing Royal Caribbean’s Splendour of the Seas set to launch as Thomson discovery this summer, you can see the full story here http://goo.gl/hehCoZ

Would you have fallen for these previous April Fools day jokes…???

In 2013 Virgin announced that it had created another world-first with the introduction of the technology required to produce the world’s 1st glass bottomed plane…..? Would you have believed this – be honest!?

Last week Royal Caribbean’s prank announcement was of it’s upcoming launch of a new addition to our fleet: Orbiter of the Galaxies – their first ever spaceship!

Last year Cruise.co.uk announced to have partnered with various submarine manufacturing companies and pulled them under the umbrella of Submarine.Voyage, enabling a wide and varied team of experienced nautical engineers and researchers to take advantage of decommissioned vessels to build our own fleet of Supersubs under the watch of Chief Engineer, Emmanuel Subs…. you wouldn’t have fallen for this – would you???

The most believable was a press release from Silversea announcing their plans to cruise backwards to save fuel – I probably would have fallen for this one!

It turns out, the cruise industry has a wicked sense of humour, and played a handful of pranks on unsuspecting cruise fans this April Fools, did you get caught out??
