Havana Great Time!

Cuba is fast becoming the new Cruise Hot Spot for 2016!

Cuba is a country drenched in culture, sitting in between the US and Latin America. Visitors will be surprised by the exuberant nature of inhabitants, who are passionate about music, meaning you will hear the rhythms and melodies of Cuba everywhere you go, once a playground for American tourists where Fidel Castro’s revolutionaries marched

Fidel Castro in 2005 called cruise ships “floating hotels” that “leave their trash, their empty cans and papers for a few miserable cents.” How things have changed!

Several non-US cruise lines, such as Thomson, Saga, Fred Olsen, Swan Hellenic and Noble Caledonia, already include stops in Cuba in their Caribbean itineraries.

Starting in May Carnival Corporation plans to offer trips from Miami Cuba as the first American cruise company to visit Cuba since the 1960 trade embargo. The trips will be through its new brand Fathom, a new concept which focuses on trips where passengers sail to a destination in order to volunteer there.

MSC are also cruising to Cuba with an overnight in Havana and the opportunity to ‘Discover The Soul of Cuba Itself’ and has announced plans to base a 2,120-passenger ship in Havana next year

Cruises from Havana offer an insight into a city that is still mysterious and very largely unspoilt. It’s a city full of culture, music and history that until now has been relatively unvisited by cruise passengers

Why not add an All Inclusive stay in Varadero,  a popular beach resort town, near the peninsula’s eastern tip is Reserva Ecológica Varahicacos, a preserve with trails and an ancient burial cave. Parque Josone is a park with a pond, gardens and music performances.

With more Luxury US Cruise lines planning to head to Cuba my advice is to book now – where else in the World can you expect to see a Beach scene with classic car from the sixties on the shores of Varadero beach, Cuba with palm tree in background?
