P and O’s Latest News…

P & O have recently announced  they have ordered a new ship for delivery in 2022 I know, I will say that quickly.. however before we know it it will be on-sale then in no time she will be launching. What does this mean for P & O?  Well they now have 2 ships on order one due 2020and then her sister ship due in 2022.

They will be next generation cruise ships. P & O have teamed up with some of the worlds leading interior designers, hospitality and maritime experts. Being built by world-leading builder of luxury passenger ships Meyer Werft. They will be LNG powered and the biggest ships P & O will have to date at 180,000 gross tons accommodating 5200 guests that’s 37000 tons bigger than Britannia and holding 1550 more passengers.

The Atrium the heart of the ship  will be the boldest and brightest  of all the fleet with glass walls spanning three decks. The new entertainment hub  will be called the Dome with an impressive roof and a pool with a retractable stage.

They will feature more places to dine more relaxing spaces, more places for entertainment and more freedom to enjoy your holiday your way

Eight speciality restaurants

Over ten options to drink and take in sea views

Sixteen whirlpools

Four swimming pools one been inside

Eight places to have breakfast

Four places to have afternoon tea

Eight places to get fresh coffee

Lots of entertainment venues from theatre venues to adult only venues

P & O will be keeping us updated on the progress of her new ships. They have announced that the first of the two new ships are due to go on sale around September so watch out for updates…

Will she be too big? I’m sure she will be like marmite I know Britannia was.  Fingers crossed they get it right. Either way, it’s exciting news for P & O and the British market.
