Cruise.co.uk Went to Butlins….

Well last weekend here at cruise.co.uk  we had our annual conference. Normally it’s on a ship as you would expect, however this year we couldn’t get a suitable option. So off to Butlins we headed.

After a  road trip from the north east we arrived at Skegness. Due to weather in different parts of the country it delayed some people’s arrival. Maybe it was a good idea we were at Butlins other wise some may have missed the boat. Its good for us all to meet up, as a lot of staff are homeworkers so its nice to meet your colleagues face to face..

Over the weekend we had lots of cruise operators such as Celebrity, royal Caribbean,Regent Seven Seas, Msc, P & O, Fred Olsen and Apt river cruise to name but a few doing presentation’s. It’s good for us to hear all about the new ships and offers they have for 2018/2019 and generally brush up on their products. We also had presentations updating us on our company and how we are performing. Also  our product departments going over what’s new for 2018/19.

Our first night with it been a 60’s weekend we all went for it with our 60’s fancy dress. We had everything from the hippie’s, thunder-birds, Cruella Deville and a handful of her dalmatians. There was some amazing outfits, too many to mention. We had a private party each evening with karaoke and a disco. Here at cruise we have some really good performers.

The weekend was one of the many music weekends that Butlins put on. They  had lots of bands from that era such as The Searchers, Marmalade. They had different venues and a full program of performances day and night. They seem really good value for money with all the entertainment been free of charge.

Well let’s just say we had an amazing weekend and are now getting ready for the new year and our busy period.
