Whose talking to you on your Princess cruise this summer?

Many cruise lines will bring on guest speakers to give talks during a cruise and for anyone due to sail on the Crown Princess this summer from Southampton, Princess cruises have recently announced which guest speakers they have lined up as part of its Encounters with Discovery programme.

The guest speakers who are scheduled and on which sailings are as follows:

22nd April 2017: Katie Nicholl (Royal correspondent and commentator) , Harry Redknapp (former footballer and manager),

06th May 2017: Beverley Callard (actress, Liz McDonald in Coronation Street)

13th May 2017: Harry Redknapp (former footballer and manager), on two 14-night Mediterranean cruises,

27th May 20117:  Graham Gooch OBE (former England cricket captain)

17th June 2017: Peter Shilton OBE (former England goalkeeper and football manager)

01st July 2017:  John Virgo (former snooker player, current snooker commentator)

08th July 2017: Terry Butcher (former England captain and football manager)

22nd July 2017:  Paul Burrell RVM (butler to Diana, Princess of Wales)

29th July 2017:  Mike Gatting OBE (former England cricket captain)

12th August 2017: Sherrie Hewson (actor, presenter, broadcaster and novelist)

26th August 2017: Edwina Currie (former MP, novelist and broadcaster)

My partner seemed quite keen when he heard Harry Redknapp would be a guest speaker on our cruise on the 22nd April – as he was manager of our local football team for a while (Portsmouth) before going to their arch enemy Southampton, and then he came back to Portsmouth. Each guest speaker will hold a 45 minute talk with a question and answer section, and also the chance to meet and greet the guest speaker (wouldn’t quite stretch to using the word Celebrity) and also they will be doing book signings – so a good way for them to promote their own merchandise.

Some are also going to appear as judges on the on board ” The Voice of Ocean” Competition,  although not sure how qualified the above speakers are to judge especially the sports personalities  – but i am sure it will make it all more interesting on board.
