Thomson announce the name of their new addition

Last week Thomson cruises announced their new ship launching in May 2018 will be called the Tui Explorer and be based from Palma. The ship at the moment is operating as the Mein Scheiff 1, which is under the German Tui Cruises.  The Tui Explorer will become the largest ship in Thomson’s fleet and will have a capacity of 1924 passengers.

There will be some features on the Tui Explorer which will include:

The ship will also have 14 family balcony cabins which will be 20 square metres and can sleep up to 5 people – which will be great as not many cruise lines offer cabins for more than 4,  unless buying a suite or paying for 2 cabins and trying ton get them interconnecting/opposite.

The inside cabins will measure 16 square metres which will be bigger than any other standard inside cabins within the fleet – I have to admit this is the one thing that has put me off cruising with Thomson as I do tend to book an inside cabin (so I can have another cruise later in the year) but have seen’heard the inside cabins are small.

The ship will operate on 4 itineraries – Cosmopolitan Classics, Highlights of the Mediterranean, Magic of Spain and the Mediterranean secrets. Ports of call will include Barcelona, Naples, Rome, Florence and Lisbon

Have you cruised with Thomson before and do you think the Tui Explorer will make a good new addition to the Thomson fleet?

Have a good couple of weeks – hopefully the sun stays now
