10 years of working at Cruise.co.uk

This week I celebrated 10 years of working at Cruise.co.uk and I thought that this was worth shouting about

I have really enjoyed my 10 years at Cruise.co.uk. I love talking to people and helping their dreams come true, talking cruises is such a lovely thing to do. Every call is different ranging from people who know exactly what they want, to first time passengers looking for help and advice. Over the years I have built up some fantastic relationships with my customers and love my catch ups, hearing who has had grandchildren and even receiving the odd Christmas present. I have a ‘rate my service’ section on my blog and have one of the highest numbers of comments within the company and it gives me a real glow when people thank me for my help.

A wonderful week in the mountains.

During February half term I enjoyed a wonderful family holiday snowboarding holiday in Italy.

We went to a small resort called Santa Caterina, Valfurva which is  in northern Italy towards the Swiss boarder and it was amazing. I have boarded for  many years and we generally go to the main large ski resorts and have been to France for the last 5 holidays. This year we joined a group of friends and who normally ski here due to the cheaper costs, we were slightly worried about whether we would like it.

Have More Fun by Stopping Overnight.

Cruising is a fantastic way to see several destinations in the one holiday, however it is always a rush with the majority of ships arriving into port at breakfast time and  leaving late afternoon. By the time you’ve queued  to get off, orientated yourself on shore, had a mad dash around the major sites and a quick coffee or cocktail it is time to get back on board. It can all be quite exhausting.

Happy New Year

I would just like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a fantastic and prosperous New Year.

2017 is looking to be a great year for cruising from the UK with more cruise lines choosing to base ships here. Norwegian cruise line are offering cruises on the Norwegian Jade from Southampton and MSC have the MSC Splendida sailing from Southampton.  NCL are a ‘freestyle’ cruise with a more relaxed approach to cruising, no formal nights and the flexibility to dine when you want and MSC offer  ‘mediterranean style’ cruising, although they will tailor more to the UK market on Splendida’s sailings.

No single supplements with Fred. Olsen

Fred Olsen have just announced their turn of year campaign, with great deals to encourage early bookings and have announced a number of sailings with no single supplement. Fred. Olsen are particularly good for single customers, they have a higher proportion of single passengers than other cruise lines, which makes it easy to mix and make friends. They have a number of single cabins on each ship but these book up early and normally the single supplement on the remaining cabins is just too high.

David Walliams, Raj and Windy Mindy. A family day out.

On Sunday I took my family to the theatre to see David Walliams and a fun time was had by all.

The event, to promote his new children’s book ‘The Midnight Gang’ was held to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital and I had been advised of the event by a friend who’s son has been under their care.
