I’m off on my travels again shortly and this time it is to Germany on a River Cruise and will be sailing with Viking on their lovely ship Kvasir- not sure yet how you pronounce it yet but will soon find out…I will joining their Rhine Getaway cruise which will be starting in Basel and ending in Cologne. I have sailed on the Rhine a few times but this will be the first time travelling with Viking. I have also visited quite a lot of the towns along the way, but there is always something new to see and new areas to visit.
Breisach – Germany is our first point of call & included excursion is The Black Forest excursion and a cuckoo clock making demonstration, my hubby loves cuckoo clocks so this will interesting for me to watch and feed back all the info to him.
Strasbourg – France this will be a walking tour and we’ll be able to see the European Parliament, the city is a blend of French & German, so im sure it will be very interesting.
Heidelberg & Speyer – Germany ive not visited these two places so this will be new for me, we’ll be able to see red sandstone ruins of Heidelberg Castle, get good views of the Neckar Valley, and it will be joining the ship in Speyer.
Koblenz – Germany Lovely place we took the cable car ( there are quite a few around) to Marksburg Castle well worth a visit and good grounds to sit and relax in too.
Rudesheim – Germany this is my favourite place along the Rhine – I’ll let my photo’s show you this on my return !
Cologne – Germany this where our cruise ends and again I love Cologne with so much to see and do here its amazing. So all sounds perfect and looking forward to sharing it all with you..
