NCL Jade Fit For Southampton

Norwegian Cruise Line ship –  Jade has been pimped/revamped the ship has recently come out of dry dock for the summer season she has just completed the make over for her season to start shortly in Southampton,  the cost to the company is said to be a multi-million pound project.

She entered service in 2006 and is part of the Jewel-Class and that is reflected on the vibrant colour scheme and Hawaii themes. I sailed on her in 2008 and remember thinking “Butlins” due to the bright colours.

However the Colour scheme is now going to be much more contemporary and I think more inline with dare i say – P&O…with Beige and Creams instead of Turquoise and Orange – Do you like NCL’s traditional colour scheme?

The ship holds nearly 2500 passengers and has now two new restaurants added, two new bars and lounges with updated designs and modern decor for her new home port of Southampton, it will be the first time NCL have had one of their ships based in Southampton since 2010 so well overdue.

She is still in the Caribbean at the moment until the end of April and then she will reposition  across the Atlantic.

The itineraries planned for the summer will included Norwegian Fjords along with the stunning North Cape. It has been a while since NCL were in Southampton and I know a lot of people will be very pleased, it is a cruise line very popular with people but over the last few years have only offered fly-cruise options so i think it will go down well.

There will be five NCL ships in Europe this summer.

This will prove even more popular for the cruise line which also announced this month the Fully Inclusive service for all of their ships on every sailing and on every single date, which now includes Tips within all of the prices along with Ultimate Drinks Package.

Will you want to go on the newly decorated Jade? – I know i’d like to
