My Tour of Japan – The Monkeys and Me!

Having just returned with my colleague Charlie Brown from our Bucket List Trip Japan and The Snow Monkeys , you can follow us on our Journey through Japan over the coming weeks on what really was a trip of a lifetime. I will be sharing with you a day to day account featuring my top tips and lots of videos and photos , so if Japan is on your Bucket List then this trip is definitely for you.

Part 1 is my experience of the Snow Monkeys , this is my story…………………………..

The coach picks you up from the Hotel in Yudanaka at 9am in the morning for a short journey to the entrance to the forest. There is a cafe , gift shop and vending machines where the coach drops you off. Apart from toilet facilities there are no other facilities in the Monkey Park itself so now is the time to purchase any bottles of water as during the summer months the weather can be very hot. Prices in the vending machines charge around £1 for a bottle of water and you will see them everywhere you go.

Top Tip the 30 – 40 minute trek into the Snow Monkey Park starts off uphill , hence I am a little out of breath, so unfit, then it is completely flat before reaching about 30 steps uphill to the entrance of the actual Monkeys. We had people of all ages on this trip but if you do have walking difficulties then the steps up to the entrance of the Monkey Park itself could prove difficult. The scenery on the trek is absolutely stunning and a really lovely walk as you will see from my pictures. Flat comfortable shoes are definitely required.

This picture is about 10 minutes walk into the forest, all well signposted so if you do want to take your time then you will find the Monkey Park on your own.

The scenery is stunning a really lovely walk.

The Monkeys were already there when we arrived around 10am and I was surprised at how accommodating they were running around our feet and just having fun . Wonderful experience.

The Monkeys surround you but we were also advised not to feed them and also not to use selfie sticks . we were in the Monkey Park for a couple of hours plus the 40 minute walk from the coach and back again.

Cruise.co.uk had 34 passengers booked on this tour. Mr and Mrs Peters kindly agreed to tell me what they thought of this fabulous experience.

Next stop Tokyo,,,,,,,,, until next time…

Don’t forget we have 3 departures of Japan and the Snow Monkeys for next year , so this could be you……….

If you have any questions then please do give me a call.

Until next time Holly
