The countdown is on …………..

With just less than two months to go till  Quantum of the Seas is delivered to Royal Caribbean on October 28th 2014 ready for her Transatlantic sailing from Southampton on 2nd November arriving into Cape Liberty, New Jersey on 10th November 2014.

Major installations are due to be completed by this week on the 5th September then the crew will embark on 8th September .

The Quantum enters a new era for Royal Caribbean by combining a 167,000 ton vessel with the latest technology such as robotic bartenders, Rip cord by I fly which is a sky-diving simulator which  will give you a sky diving experience whilst on board which is comparable to a real jump….. I think i’ll leave that to the kids.

One major part of the smart technology that I cant wait to try out are the RFID wristbands, these will replace the Sea Pass cards and can be used to purchase items whilst on board and even to enter your stateroom…. The Quantum will be the first Royal ship to use this smart technology no more struggling with the card swipe system to gain access to your stateroom.

Using all this smart technology has allowed Royal Caribbean to introduce a ‘curb to ship’ in 10 minutes , you’ll complete most of the check in process at home and your smart wristband will be waiting for you in your stateroom.
