P&O Changes to Silver Service – Are the standards changing?

Last year I received a call from a regular client who  always sails with P&O.

Sadly he was ready to cancel his cruise  due to the changes P&O had made to the on board dining experience, by removing silver service at meal times on board Arcadia. As a loyal traveler with P&O he was disappointed to learn of the change that vegetables , potatoes and accompaniments were to now to be delivered to the table ready plated. This will apparently give the waiting staff more time to get to know the guests and therefore give a better service.

This to my client was a crucial part of his cruise, the experience of the silver service every evening to him enhanced the cruise and complemented the 5* experience and was one of the reasons he stayed loyal to P&O …………. are P&O now upsetting there long standing clients by making this change?

After many discussions he decided to still sail and make his own opinions, apprehensively he sailed at the beginning of July………. I called him on the day of his return to welcome him home and was delighted to hear that all had gone well and that the dining experience minus the silver service was a success. So much so that he immediately  re booked with me for another cruise on board Arcadia, minus silver service.

We are all sometimes afraid of changes but as in this case changes can happen and can work .
