This Saturday I set off for a flying visit to Australia……..and what a visit it promises to be.
I think i’ll need plenty of coffee to keep me going in the day and plenty of Fosters in the evening!
My adventure starts Saturday with a flight from Heathrow to Melbourne with Qantas. This is by far the longest flight i’ve done and to be honest i’m not looking forward to it.
The second part of our trip starts with a flight from Melbourne to Cairns where we head to the Thala Beach Nature Reserve for a one night stay. this is an eco friendly resort located on a private headland between Cairns and Port Douglas. This should be great as I’m interested in wildlife and there is plenty around this hotel as its in the middle of a rainforest.
Next its a full day ‘Quicksilver Outer Barrier Reef Cruise’………………….this the highlight of the trip for me, a catamaran takes us to a reef at the very edge of the continental shelf so I should see plenty of marine life.
And finally I’ve got a full day tour to ‘Kuranda’ which includes the Skyrail Rainforest cableway which takes us above the rainforest canopy to Kuranda before returning a few hours later by scenic railway.
So all in all i’m away for 08 nights, 2 of which are flying. It’ll be exhausting but i’m sure the adrenaline will keep me going!
When I’m back look out for my blog as i’ll tell you a little more about my experience and upload plenty of photos/videos.
You can still email me or call me when I’m away as my messages are being monitored by colleagues.
