This week my wife and I travelled to London for her Birthday. She’s waited years to see her idol Celine Dion and as she’s currently on tour away from Caesars Palace in Las Vegas so we thought London was perfect, its also a little lighter on my bank balance than Vegas!
We thought the best possible thing we could teach our boys was to live your life. Live it without fear. Don’t allow the minority to scare you and change your plans, your dreams. I wondered if the state of the worlds news, incidents and attacks have affected or changed any of your plans? Are you staying at home rather than going away? Have the countless terrorism attacks across the globe left us Brits scared to adventure abroad for our summer holidays?
We have had the best couple of days, first time in forever without our children. I’ve never been the biggest fan of Celine, but knew i would earn major husband points by taking her. Can i just say the show at the 02 was outstanding! By far the best show we have ever been to. The security in London was very present, we were checked and double checked, bags and bodies. The only real difficulty was this tropical climate! I think we happened to be away on the 2 hottest days of the year since 1976. So we crammed in a few of the touristy things you must see whilst there!
Is the answer to stop traveling? Is the answer is to keep traveling? to see the world and tick off those bucket lists. Of course, while your head may agree with me, your gut may be apprehensive. You may be making travel plans—or trying to—and you can’t help but wonder: If I go, what is the risk that I will get caught in a terrorist incident? How do I minimize that risk? If I can’t minimize it, how do I get over my fear? I can’t tell you should do, but only advise what I’m doing and what my family is doing. We just had the best two care free days away, I’m beyond happy we didn’t cancel, we didn’t let them win.
Stay Safe everyone.
