I had a customer Socket to me!

Today I spoke to a customer after she had returned from her recent cruise. After telling me how she enjoyed the first time with Princess she did say that she had only one little gripe. The lady knew that Princess was an American cruise line but assumed that as the cruise was sailing out of Southampton that the ship would actually have British Sockets in the cabins.

Now I had a conversation with this customer as we try to do with every customer before they travel but did not think to mention about the sockets that would be on the ship. In fact I myself only thought what sockets would it be on my cruise the night before I travelled. My cruise was Celebrity so again was US Sockets.

Most Cabins like mine here on Harmony of the Seas have either US or European two pin sockets

Now talking to my customer got me thinking as we do get lot’s of varied questions when we do our Bon Voyage calls. If  we went through a checklist with everyone we book we would never be off the phone and I think some customers would love it but most would resent it as it would take a while to say the least. I tend to find everyone that I talk to will ask a different question from Gratuities to what to pack. What I am finding is that most of the questions are actually asked are answered on our website under our really useful guides section at the top of our website.

Now I have to admit I am guilty of pointing this out mainly just for new to cruise passengers but should really even point out to  very experienced cruisers as you will find the answer to most of your questions answered on here. Not all of them will be and I would always like you to double check anything that you are not sure of with me as this is part of the service we pride ourselves on here at Cruise.co.uk.

As for my customer she went to the shop onboard the ship to buy an adapter and guess what? They had sold out because lot’s of other people had thought the same. At this point I think she started to panic and was think what was she going to do as she would be lost without hairdryers but more importantly straighteners. Every ladies nightmare ( And a quite a few men ). Luckily disaster was avoided as the reason they booked the cruise was to surprise a family member who was also on the sailing and luckily she was switched on ( pardon the pun ) and had a spare adapter with her.

So the moral of the story is please don’t socket to me when you return from your cruise, check our guides before you travel and if the answer is not there for your question then ask me.
