Is Foreign Travel Really Safe at the Moment?

smiling girlWhat with terrorist attacks on beaches and planes falling out of the sky right, left and centre, not to mention the migrant crisis it certainly begs the question doesn’t it. It has certainly put me off flying for the foreseeable I can tell you. Sad times for the tourist industry especially in those countries that have been so badly affected like Egypt and Tunisia, and for those folks whose livelihoods have been devastated.

So what to do if we are to avoid the perils of the British summer next year? How do we get away from that rain that seems to have blighted much of this summer safe in the knowledge that we will return in one piece? What could be easier and more convenient than taking a cruise out of a British port? No need to fly, you can cruise out to the sun on any number of ships and there really is something to suit any requirement.

There really isn’t a better time to book than now. There are so many fantastic offers out there – the cruise lines realise that there are so many berths to fill that they have to offer attractive deals in order to do so.

For the more mature cruiser who likes a smaller more intimate ship we have Fred Olsen Cruises who are offering a free all-inclusive drinks package, or Cruise and Maritime who are offering half price deals on many cruises – pay for one passenger, the other sails free.

For guests looking for a good, traditional British family cruise line P&O are offering free parking, on board credit and free coach transfers to Southampton, and Princess cruises are offering some whopping amounts of on board credit which should help with the on board account! Cunard too are being very generous with their on board credit on selected sailings, along with free parking at Southampton or free coach transfers.

Royal Caribbean, as always, have pulled out all the stops and are offering a complimentary drinks package and free Gratuities. They are the most popular cruise line to sail out of Southampton and of course, Indy is back next year, the UK’s favourite ship by a mile and thanks to the fantastic offers from Royal Caribbean recently she is filling up quickly especially during school holiday dates. We will also have Navigator of the Sea’s back in the UK next summer so there should be plenty of berths for all of us, if we book sooner rather than later.

Celebrity Cruises have gone for the free parking option, or Chauffeur transfers to the port (within 150 miles).

Lots of great offers from our favourite cruise lines then, and rest assured you will always get a little extra from me too. If you already have free parking and as much on board credit as you will need from the cruise line then I can always add in a lovely relaxing spa treatment for you, or how about Champagne and Strawberries in bed? Just let me know what floats your boat when we speak and I will make sure it happens for you.

So there you have it folks, we can travel safely and enjoy the summer of 2016. There really is no need to fly with all these fabulous cruise lines literally on our doorstep and you are never safer than when you are on a cruise ship.
