Deliziosa’s Dubai Debut

Costa Cruises’ newest ship, Costa Deliziosa, was launched amid a fanfare of color and spectacle in Dubai yesterday.

The extravagant ceremony, which took place in front of an audience of 3,000 guests, including members of Dubai’s royal family and the ship’s 2,200 passengers, was the first cruise ship naming to take place in an Arab port.

It also coincided with the opening of the emirate’s new cruise terminal, which will handle the 125 cruise ship calls and 325,000 passengers expected at the port this year.
Costa’s decision to base two of its ships – Costa Luminosa and Costa Deliziosa – in the region will be a real boost for the Emirates cruise industry and follows the success of Royal Caribbeans Brilliance of the Seas in that area.
Costa is also venturing into Red Sea Cruises in 2011, and their first world cruise for many years in December 2011 is already 30% sold!
Costa are a cruise line that people don’t always consider when looking for a cruise, but they do some fabulous itineraries, something different, and are well worth looking at. Let me assist you when you are in doubt.
