To curtain or not to curtain that is the age old question!

To curtain or not to curtain that is the age old question!

I’m talking about shower curtains of course.  I have to say my biggest bug bare when ever i go on a cruise, is walking in the bathroom to find a shower curtain glaring right at you.  I almost hear the music from the Scream films every time I see them as well as feeling my stomach churn a little.

I am no germaphobe (is that even a word), but shower curtains are one of the most vile things to have ever been put on a cruise ship.  It is all the communal bacteria that could and is collecting on there from the guest in the cabin before you, and the guests before them and so on and so on.  I shudder to think.

Is it really that difficult and costly for the cruise lines to put in shower panels or doors?  I don’t think so!

I know when you stay in your cabin you sleep in a communal bed, but I have made my peace with this.  The sheets are fresh and clean (i would hope) and so I can deal with this. But when was your shower curtain last cleaned or replaced?  Exactly. At least with a glass panel you can see that this was cleaned and scrubbed of the remains of past guests.

I honestly reading this back do sound like a germaphobe.  I’m honestly not. And neither am I like the contestants on four in a bed who take the room apart looking for dirt and dust (mainly because i’m not brave enough).  I just really do hate shower curtains, especially communal ones.

To those cruise lines still using them.  Come on, sort it out!

What is your biggest pet hate on a cruise? Let me know in the comment.
