Jane McDonald is Back on the Sea

Yes, its true, the woman who opened cruising to the British public in the 1990’s is going back to her roots.  Jane McDonald, the lass from Yorkshire, who shot onto our TV screens on 1998’s The Cruise is back.  Jane will be sailing the seas in front of the cameras for a new Channel 5 documentary exploring why cruises continue to be popular with the British holiday maker.

Entitled Cruising With Jane McDonald, will be starting on Channel 5 this Friday (the 10th February) at 9pm, she will be starting her journey with the MSC Divina Miami, bringing the Caribbean into your living room and from the trailer it looks like she will be on a different cruise line each week (there are 4 programmes scheduled) including what looks like a river cruise.

I have included the trailer below for you to have a gander and see what you think.

Now I know Jane is an old hand with cruise ship programming, but with the success of Princess Cruises, who are on their third series of their documentary, The Cruise, she is going to have some big shoes to fill.  Now I do like my Thursday evening sit down with The Royal Princess, especially as I will be sailing on the new Majestic Princess at the end of March from Rome (blog to follow).

I for one will be watching, as a self-confessed cruise geek (hence the perfect job here at cruise.co.uk), how could I not and hopefully I will learn a thing or two with some handy tips I can pass on to you, my customers.  What are your thoughts on Jane’s return to the high seas? Will you be watching the new cruise programme, and have you been watching the one with Royal Princess on ITV.

Let me know your thoughts.
