Great few days!

The other weekend I spent 2 nights in Liverpool.  We arrived into Liverpool and knew we had to park at the Liverpool One shopping centre car park for our hotel.  We crossed the road and we were at the Hilton.  Check in didn’t go to plan as the hotel couldn’t find our reservation.  After a while they did eventually check us in.  The room itself was really good size and the hotel was well positioned.  We crossed the road and were at Albert Docks and if we walked the other way we were right at the shopping centre.  We didn’t have too much time the day we arrived as we needed to eat and be ready to go to the Empire Theatre to watch The Bodyguard.  We decided to get a taxi there as it was raining.

The theatre itself was really nice.  it was a good size and there were menus on your seat so you could order food and drink in the interval.  I had seen the show before so knew what to expect but I must say I thought it was better than the last time.  Jon really enjoyed it also.  The hotel had a very lively bar each evening so we decided to was easier to go back there for a few drinks.  The next day we spent shopping.  We were going to go to the Cavern but we didn’t have much time and the weather had turned nice by the afternoon so we made the most of it and walked around the docks.  That evening we were booked into Gusto which is one of my favourite restaurants.  The meal was lovely and such a good atmosphere.  The restaurant was over the road from the hotel.

After our 2 nights in Liverpool we decided to make our way home and stop at Chester Zoo.  The weather wasn’t great it rained pretty much all day but we had gone prepared.  I had my wellies and Kagool and was set for the day.  I couldn’t believe the size of the Zoo.  We spent five hours there and we could have spent longer.  it was a really good day out and well worth the money.

Overall we had a lovely few days away.  I am now looking forward to my holiday at the end of June.
