Celebrity go Evening Chic!

Celebrity

Jackets and ties will no longer be required in the main dining room on select nights on board Celebrity Cruises.  Celebrity have decided to replace their Formal nights across the fleet with evening chic which starts in December.  The new dress code is considered dressier than smart casual but less dressy than formal wear.  The change by Celebrity is to enable passengers to express their own sense of sophistication.  Celebrity have been watching passengers on how they dress and although they are becoming more casual they are still sophisticated.  Designer looking jeans will be accepted in the main dining room but ripped jeans won’t.  T shirts won’t be permitted in the dining room on evening chic nights.  Other formal traditions like sparkling wine at the Captain’s Reception will also change.  You might be treated to a Mojitio in the Caribbean etc.   On the Evening Chic nights there will also be more portrait opportunities and using different locations like the Lawn Club.  This will certainly give a different back drop.  In the main dining room several officers will host tables where normally only the Captain’s Table was available.  This gives more people the chance to sit with officers ranking three stripes or above.   I am not too sure why Celebrity have decided to change their formal nights but I am sure they have listened to their guests and that is why they have changed it.  I must admit I quite like the formal nights on board but I am sure there will still be lots of people who choose to dress up on these new Evening Chic evenings.
