Social Media – Will it be the death of some people?
I have just come across a story from Australia, where a young woman was so engrossed in Facebook, she was not paying attention to where she was and walked off the end of a pier in St Kildas near Melbourne. Thankfully, she was rescued and is okay. The Police said when they got to her she still had her mobile phone in her hand!!!!
Now, I remember a time when you made arrangements with friends and stuck to them. Mainly because you didn’t have a phone to call them to say you were running late, couldn’t find anything to wear, the cat was sick etc………. I am not a complete technophobe – you can’t be these days, but this story shows just how far some people will go to keep in touch!!!
