Cruise Lines Disgusting Attitude Towards Existing Customers

Last few weeks quite honestly have just been one massive headache……….Why?

Almost on a daily basis I am getting phone calls from angry customers who have already booked, having now seen their cruise much cheaper, and with a lot more included.

Now we all know that once you book something that’s it, it’s not changing.

But for certain cruise lines to ‘promote’ or have a ‘sale’ which basically discounts cruises that have been on sale for months and months to prices that are 20,30 even 50% less than what they were, quite honestly really gets up my nose.

Quite honestly it’s becoming a real problem. The cruise lines will not budge because of our frankly archaic UK T&Cs.

Even with their very best customers, and i’m talking top level members, 20 years loyal guests, are not immune to the disgusting ways and ridged pricing that goes on nowadays.

I have had one family this week have this problem, having only booked last week! The cruise line in question dropped the price by £1000 essentially overnight, and featured a better cabin.

How can they justify doing this?

Are they prepared to reprice for the customers, no absolutely not.

It does not make business sense to treat people this way.

Want my advice people? Book last minute. Unless the cruise is really unique, or a promotion laid on by us the Travel Agent, such as our Bucket List exclusives, forget booking early, you are only going to get stung.

Anything that is a frequent cruise, Med, Norway, Canaries etc etc dont bother booking early.

Granted you might not get your ideal cabin but does that really matter when you can save hundreds, maybe even thousands of pounds?

It’s so frustrating getting calls back from unhappy customers when this happens, something needs to be done.

In the US and Canada, their guests have total flexibility, they even get their deposit back if they book another cruise – tell me how this is fair?

I just think the attitude to people who have booked in good faith thinking they are getting the best deal should change. The emphasis on getting new customers is too heavy.

The passengers I mentioned above will never book with the cruise line in question ever again, having sailed with them since 1996, on over 25 cruises – I can’t begin to imagine how much money they have spent, only to have the door slammed in their face when they actually have a genuine reason to be annoyed. Despicable.

Anyway rant over, I’m sure many of you have had your fingers burned this way – it’s time to make a stand!

Thanks for reading and as ever, until next time……………
