The greatest thrill slide at sea – The Ultimate Abyss

Let me take you on a journey down The Ultimate Abyss – The greatest thrill slide to hit the high seas…

Guests will climb to Deck 16 of the Harmony of the Seas to start their greatest thrill ride yet, just to remind you how high you are there will be a special glass platform at the launch area where you will be able to take one last glance at the Boardwalk 10 decks below you…. then it’s off !

Twisting and turning down the 100 feet drop from Deck 16 to Deck 6 you will be riding the tallest slide at Sea.  Clocking up speeds of up to 9 miles an hour in a tube complete with spontaneous audio effects to offer you a complete sensory overload – this is a slide like nothing you have experienced before on this earth – leave alone at Sea !!.

The Ultimate Abyss will tower 150 feet above sea level adorning the back of the Harmony of the Seas – Royal Caribbean’s newest ship due to launch in a couple of months. To top it all there is not one but two of these slides, each with a diameter of approximately 2.6 feet made of stainless steel the two separate cylinders  run side by side and will give any thrill seeker the ultimate adrenalin boost.

For the slightly less Adrenalin boosted of you, Harmony of the Seas will also feature Royal Caribbean’s first water slides with a trio of them emerging into the pool deck area.  Harmony of the Seas will launch in May 2016 and is already filling up fast for her summer itineraries sailing from her home port of Barcelona for the Summer, before re-positioning to For Lauderdale for cruises to the Caribbean for the Winter Season.

This is a sneak glimpse of the rear of the Harmony of the Seas whilst out on sea trials recently – they are leaving the addition of the slide for a big reveal at launch…
