The BIG Reveal….

So, following on from my little teaser at the end of my last blog… and for anyone who follows my facebook page in between times… I am now happy to reveal the destination for my next trip….

There is the full Itinerary yet to be confirmed but all I know so far is I am going to……

DUBAI…

I am so excited, as you may be able to tell, as it is a destination on my “to do” list and I am so pleased that Cruise.co.uk are giving me this amazing opportunity.

The trip itself is in association with Dubai Tourist Board, Emirates Airways (another wish list ticked off to fly on the A380) and MSC Cruises… now as I say no further news on the Itinerary yet and I will keep you posted on this but I fly on the 8th December to Dubai and fly back from Dubai on the 12th December.. MSC Cruises have the Fantasia Ship based from Dubai for the winter season and she will be in port for the 9th & 10th December, so i’m sure the visit will be incorporating a visit to the ship – possibly even an overnight stay on board.

Dubai, as a destination in itself, has so much variety to offer and some of the most stunning hotels and buildings in the world.  I am looking forward to exploring what the City has to offer for anyone looking as a pre or post cruise stay to the many Cruise lines that are now basing ships there.  With the trip being hosted by the Tourist Board, I am sure they are going to want to show off their amazing city to us… My top 3 things to experience would be:

Burj Khalifa: The World’s Tallest Tower (even thought I have a bit of a fear of heights !!!) The observation deck on level 124 is meant to be absolutely stunning and to top this there is the luxurious At The Top Sky Lounge on the 148th Floor – a real head in the clouds experience..

The Dubai Mall: The World’s Largest shopping Mall…Situated next door to the Burj is home to not only over 1200 shops & 150 restaurants but also contains and ice-rink, indoor waterfall, indoor theme park, giant aquarium, underwater zoo and a choreographed fountain !!… now that is no ordinary shopping Mall.

Palm Jumeirah: This area is one of the largest man-made islands in the world and is shaped as a Palm Tree, This area plays host to some of the top hotels in Dubai including the Fairmont, One & Only, Waldorf Astoria and the iconic Atlantis The Palm. The Palm has a monorail which links to the mainland tram system making for ease of transportation throughout.

But I am most sure that whatever we end up doing on this educational visit it is going to be an amazing journey, and I look forward to giving you more details soon.
