Give The Ones You Love Wings To Fly, Roots To Come Back And Reasons To Stay.

I am starting to plan my days when I retire and on my bucket list is a World Cruise. i will spend  approximately 3 months at sea . Now some of you who know me well will think i couldn’t spend that amount of time at sea. However, with some many destinations included there surely can’t be a  dull moment even during Sea days,Of course i will miss my family but for me i have dreamed of travelling the world since i was a little girl. i remember once when i was on holiday in Crete over 30 years ago i saw a couple who when you are 21 yourself seemed ancient. They were amazing – the lady walked with sticks but on talking with her she was 86 and she  was determined to go to every Greek island whilst she was still able. She romanticised about Captain Corelli and i have been lucky to go to Cepha;lonia myself – in my opinion the most beautiful Greek island i have visited.  it made me think about my own grandmother who had lived in India in the days of the Raj and then came home to Redcar and never even went to London. I think that for me it planted in my head that the world is actually getting smaller and fascinating and i want to see and experience the different cultures.

Having been sold a cruise by my friend, after 5 glasses of red wine, it was with great trepidation that I saw Independence of the Seas, on driving into Southampton. Approaching Gate 10 my stomach started to contract with anxiety. After all I am not a strong swimmer and heights are definitely not my forte UNLESS I HAVE A PARACHUTE OF COURSE !
