Silver Cloud’s Taking Part In The Olympics

Well kind off ! They have the United States Basketball team staying onboard! Of course the athletes village isn’t good enough for the likes of the high profile stars including Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Diana Taurasi and the rest of the high profile team members so they have decided to stay onboard the Silver Cloud who is docked on a pier at the other side of Rio De Jeneiro.

The silver cloud will give the athletes chance to relax in secluded surroundings as they feared they would be ‘bombarded’ in the main village due to there high status. They have swimming pools, find dining restaurants, gym’s conference facilities and can order themselves room service too. This is pretty normal for the basketball team in the 2004 Athens Olympics they also stayed onboard a cruise ship, while in 2008 Beijing and 2012 London they chose to stay in Hotels rather than in the athletes village again.

Silver Cloud is a luxury cruise ship owned by Silver Sea cruises , she carried 296 passengers along with 222 members of crew so the athletes can expect to receive top notch service with nearly a member of staff to attend to each athlete onboard. of course there will also be normal customers onboard also who im sure would have booked this specific cruise for the fantastic positioning of the ship during the Olympics and will be enjoying days out to various events whilst in the city.
