Fred Olsen – Boudicca

me and the Boudicca

First of Happy New Year to all my customer’s old a new. Once again the year has gone by in a flash- and what an amazing year it was. I manged to visit four ships through out the year, with the Boudicca being the last. This is my second time sailing with Fred Olsen and I must admit I didn’t like the ship as much as the Balmoral. The main reason for this is because there is’t an atrium. The reception area and shops are just on one deck and there was no centre piece as such. I do like to see a lovely staircase and even a large reception area as I think this makes the ships looking grand. Okay this may only be me, but I like to board a ship and get the ‘wow factor’. Other than this I had a lovely experience. I thought the food was delicious and had no complaints. The Lido lounge where we spent a great deal of time was great with enough space to have a dance area. Upstairs there was also the Observatory which was another bar with comfortable seating. Here you also got fantastic views out to see. This ship is a small ship so getting around was easy although I still manage to get lost, but that’s just me. On the top deck is a gym for all those gym bunnies who never i’ve themselves the day off and there is also a small spa, just the right size for the ship.

We spent a great deal of our time in the Neptunes theatre and again this is smaller than the one on Balmoral. But with it being smaller you get a good view of the stage when sometimes this can be lost.

The outside area is spacious and has a good size pool with hot tubs.

Overall I would reccomend the Boudicca to older clients who want a bit of rest and relaxation. It’s easy to get around, the cabins are comfortable and the staff are always smiling. What more could you want?
